Music in the Glen

Music in the Glen run a variety of music education, community and performance projects. Please use the menu above to explore our teaching programmes, shows for children, shows for adults, bands, the silent disco and the Pop-up Playhouse.

String School
Diane Daly's pre-instrumental, beginner and next step strings programmes in Killaloe and Limerick

Shows for Children
Music in the Glen’s children’s shows combine the highest level of music-making with storytelling, puppetry, film and theatre.   The shows draw from the same well of professional musicians as the shows for adults and bands, and introduce children to a range of musical styles and concepts.   The current rosta of available shows are The Gruffalo & Friends, Malcolm the Marmoset, The Fourth Little Pig and Sound & the Silents (Looney Tunes).

Shows for Adults
The shows for adults grew out of the various bands that Music in the Glen set up.  They include the legendary Lola Montez Experience, the smaller scale Billie, & Amy, the live music accompaniment to Modern Times and the gentle sounds of Ballads  for Boru..

Bands
Hunka Burning Love is a flamboyant multi-genre six piece, who have performed at festivals and events including the Europa League Final at the Aviva stadium. Night and Day is a more chilled out jazz/easy listening ensemble, adept at either providing atmosphere, or holding an audience as the main feature.

Silent Disco
Music in the Glen own and run a full silent disco set-up. We have 200 wireless headphones that receive from a two channel transmitter. This means there are two music options to choose from (in effect two djs running simultaneously), allowing differing dance tastes and/or different generations to dance together.
